Ugly must mean Beautiful! Interview with "Ugly Shyla"

Q.Thank you so much for taking the time to let us get to know you! Okay besides being one of the most stunning and creative alternative model’s out there going by the name “Ugly Shyla” what is it that you do in your everyday life?
A. Art and creativity are pretty much my life, so I tend to always be working on art or some creative endeavor. I guess that is the polite way of saying I'm a workaholic.

Q.What artist or photographers have you had the pleasure of working with in the past and who would you like to work with in the future in your modeling career?
A.I have been lucky enough to work with photographers like Steve Diet Goedde, Lithium Picnic and John Santerineross who are photographers that I respected as artist before I really even got heavily into modeling.

Q. If you had a theme song what would it be when you entered a room?
A.Where The Roses Never Fade”, the Jimmy Swaggart version, just because I really like that song.

Q. What is your favorite pastime?
A. Again it's pretty much art, but I really like sewing and I'm a huge book worm. I also like to cook, but who in Louisiana doesn't like to cook?

Q. What do you collect in your spare time?
A. Christian Art and Christian or Saint related art. I also collect antique/vintage clothing and vintage medical books.

Q. What inspired you to do the creation of your “Ugly Art Dolls”?
A.I really have no clue why I started making dolls. I just made one and never stopped.

Q. At what age did you start making your “Ugly Art Dolls” and what research did you do before getting into the industry?
A. I made my first doll at 16 years old and started getting into it professionally at around 19.

Q.I read that you take your art very serious, is there something you would like people to take from your art or learn from your art?
A. At the very least I'd like to have my art make people acknowledge some of the ills of the world.

Q.What are links or websites we can go to purchase your works of art or view a portfolio?
A. www.uglyart.net,
http://myspace. com/uglyartdolls

Q. Do you have any upcoming events, shows or new art coming?
